About this site

A free guide to the birds of Central Oklahoma, made by a family here that loves watching them. It's written for kids, and grown-ups are welcome too.

What counts as Central Oklahoma

The 8 counties around Oklahoma City: Oklahoma, Cleveland, Canadian, Logan, Lincoln, Pottawatomie, McClain, and Grady.

How the facts are checked

Each bird page lists where its facts come from, like the Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation and the Audubon guide. We write everything in our own words and check it against those sources.

The "When it's here" charts count sightings people have shared on iNaturalist in the 8 counties. Taller bars mean more sightings that month.
